One person lost his life while many others were left disjointed when Telangana police reportedly opened fire on a crowd at Secunderabad railway station as protests against the new Agnipath issue of the Center for recruiting soldiers in the three services turned in violence and burning on a large scale on Friday morning.

The situation escalated with protesters going on a rampage, setting at least four train cars on fire, blocking the train tracks with two-wheelers, wooden boxes, garbage cans, and train porters' wheelbarrows, and stealing intact goods in the package section. A political candidate of the Railway Protection Force said that a train was attacked by fire.
The protesters also smashed offices on the no.one and 10 platforms, looted computers and natural philosophy, destroyed CCTV cameras, lights and fans on the ten platforms, and threw stones at the police. Food and convenience stalls on all platforms were also looted and robbed. Because protesters tried to get into the engines of the railroad locomotives, railroad officials cut power to the entire train depot.

The trains that were scheduled to arrive at the Secunderabad railway station were going to different nearby stations or stopped outside.
